The new bags from Shiraleah Handbags are made from vegan leather. Yes you heard me correctly, vegan leather. So you ask, what constitutes vegan leather luggage? Basically vegan leather means, you did not have to kill any animals to create it. (What happened to the terms “manmade” or “faux leather”?)
The following is a list of materials that now fall under the term “vegan leather”:
- Vegetan: microfiber (synthetic fibers like nylon and polyester) material created to mimic the attributes of real leather
- Lorica: similar to vegatan, but made out of several different microfibers
- PVC: Polyvinyl chloride (plastic that is cheap, durable, and easy to assemble)
- Kydex: This is an acrylic-PVC alloy
So now that you are an expert on all that is “vegan leather”……….or maybe just an animal lover…….you will want to check out these fabulous new chic bags from Shiraleah. Not only offered in fun spring and summer colors, these Shiraleah bags have great designs, an amazing “leather like” feel and are very practical to use with their moderate pricing and easy wipe-off finish; the characteristics that have made “vegans” so popular in 2011!
